I am experiencing problems what shall I do?

  1. Check your network connection – we strongly recommend you use a WiFi connection to download your magazines.
  2. Check your available disk space – the download size is listed next to the magazine issue you want to download. You will need at least that amount of space.
  3. Make sure your iOS version is up to date. If not connect your device to iTunes and update.

I have clicked download but the magazine won’t download and the progress bar hasn’t moved.

There is a known issue with in-app downloading via Newsstand. If you have followed the steps above and you still experience this issue then please follow these steps:
  1. Close the app.
  2. Delete the app from your device.
  3. Reinstall the app from the app store.
  4. Once the app is installed go to the settings app and click on Store. On the right hand side you will now see the settings for automatic downloads. Make sure that the magazine app you have just installed has automatic downloads set to ON.
  5. Re-open the app and click download.
  6. If you still experience issues please email support@aptusinteractive.com with as much detail as possible.

How long does a magazine issue take to download?

The time to download a magazine can vary widely. Three factors influence the duration:
  • Speed and quality of the network connection
  • Number of pages in the magazine issue
  • Type of magazine
  • Network Speed & Quality
Generally, the faster the network connection the shorter the download time. Wi-Fi is fastest, 3G the next fastest and EDGE the slowest. If the device is an iPad without cellular connection or an iPod Touch the only option will be a Wi-Fi connection. Whilst the maximum bandwidth capacity of the network affects the download duration, this is not always the case; sometimes a 3G connection will be more efficient than a slow, shared public Wi-Fi, say in a coffee shop.

Interactive magazines that contain large amounts of video or animations will take longer than a print replication magazine. The download file size will be displayed next to the issue you want to download.

What if I lose connection and I receive a download error?

Don’t worry – you can resume your download from the position it stopped in by simply pressing the Resume button next to the issue you were downloading.

How much spare capacity will I need on my device?

Each issue will display the file size of the download. You will need to ensure you have enough capacity free for the download to be successful.

I have finished reading an issue and would like to free up some space on my device. Is there a way I can do this and still access the issue in the future?

Yes – you can archive any issue you have downloaded which will remove the issue from your device. Should you wish to read the issue again you can simply click download to download the issue again for free.

I have bought an issue on my iPhone/iPad but want to read it on my PC. How can I do this?

If you have bought an issue on your iPhone or iPad you can read it for free on your PC by creating an account. To do this you need to follow these steps:
  1. Click on the settings icon (top left corner) in the library view.
  2. Click Login
  3. Click create account
  4. Enter your email address and setup a password (minimum 6 characters).
  5. You will receive an email asking you to confirm your account by clicking on a web link.
  6. You can now navigate to the magazine on your PC and login using the username and password you have just setup.

I have restored my iPhone/iPad. How do I access the previous issue I have paid for without being charged.

You can restore your previous purchases for free by following these steps:
  1. Click on the settings icon (top left corner) in the library view.
  2. Click Restore Purchases
  3. Check the Apple ID is the same as the one you used for purchasing the issue(s)
  4. nter your Apple ID password and click OK.
  5. Once confirmed you will be able to click download on any issue you have previously purchased to download it again for free.

How will I know when a new issue is available?

You will receive a push notification to your device.

How are subscriptions renewed?

If you buy a subscription through the App Store or your iTunes account, your subscription with Apple will automatically renew until you cancel it.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Your subscription will automatically renew until you cancel it through your iTunes account. If you’d like to turn off auto-renew, you can do so by changing your settings in iTunes.

I have a question that wasn’t addressed in the FAQ. How can I reach someone?

Please use the contact form below and we will respond within 24 hours. If you are experiencing difficulties then to help with the diagnosis you can submit diagnostic logs to us. In order to enable extra logging you need to click on the settings icon in the top left hand corner of the library view and click on diagnostics. You will then need to enable extra logging. Once you have done this exit the settings and repeat the steps in the app which produced the issue you experienced. Once you have done this you can return to the diagnostics window and submit your logs with your email address so we can identify you. support@digifi.it
